Upon Further Inspection

It’s a strange thing

when there is no reason

for a heart to be broken,

but it is anyway.

The brain will put on it’s glasses

to closely inspect the relevant elements

and the heart will just lie there,

graying and crying.

A checklist is marked,

no cause can be found.

The brain carefully pours over vitals and measures

the cost of heart’s losses to material treasures-

it seems as if it shouldn’t be so.

Isn’t it funny, the brain doesn’t know?
